Mesa publishes the review clock and the fee method. It does not publish a one-size dollar amount we can safely repeat.
Review time
Per the City of Mesa Residential Construction page, retrieved 2026-08-18:
You receive written comments or approval within 10 working days. Working days are Monday through Thursday, excluding holidays. An expedited review of 5 working days is available for an additional fee. Second and third reviews use the same timeline as the first.
That is a review window, not a promise that construction starts on day 11.
Fees
The same page says fees are based on estimated construction costs. Full payment is required to issue the permit. The city links a fee PDF from that page. We will not invent a pool fee or a re-roof fee here.
After issuance
Permits are valid for 180 days. Schedule inspections online, by phone, or by text. Keep a printed copy of the approved plans on site. A certificate is generated when inspections and holds are complete.
How this shows up in our data
The weekly Mesa permit report counts filings we already hold. It is not the city's review queue and it is not a fee calculator. Hire from the Mesa rankings only after you verify the license on the official ROC search.
